This is the first issue of the Journal of Culture and Education in the Iberian Empires, an initiative of CEIbero, a research group devoted to these topics since 2010, with a presence in several HEIs throughout Brazil, Portugal, and other countries in South America.

To mark the beginning of the publication work, we have chosen to republish the Glossary of Terms of the 18th-Century Iberian World, which has been fed by the group's research since 2018, having become one of the flagships of the collective research work.

Starting with this issue, the Glossary... will be a permanent section of the journal, accepting contributions from academic researchers on the uses of the terms in the period in question, according to the "Introductory Delimitations", presented here.

In the next issues, contributions for analysis will be accepted in the form of unpublished articles within the scope of the journal, as well as new contributions to the glossary.
