Outreach is an essential tool for connecting academia to society, allowing scientific knowledge to benefit the community. In this context, the project "BIOTEC O QUE?" was created by the Federal University of Paraíba, which highlights the importance of university outreach in popularizing Food Biotechnology. Using Instagram as its main platform, the project shared accessible scientific content, including videos, quizzes, and posts on topics such as food safety and the nutritional value of mushrooms. The profile achieved a significant increase in followers, with highlights for the reels-format videos. In addition to online activities, the project also held a mini-course on Mushroom Biotechnology, which received positive feedback from participants. The project concludes by emphasizing the importance of university outreach as an essential tool for connecting academia to society and promoting science.
