Propõe, nos detalhes, promover um debate que se desloca “do conformismo à crítica”, visando examinar as condições em que se desenvolveram os paradigmas teórico-metodológicos que influenciaram tanto o Serviço Social quanto o Desenvolvimento de Comunidade. Constata, ao final, a recente construção teórico-metodológica amparada na perspectiva denominada desenvolvimento territorial.   Palavras-chave: Desenvolvimento de Comunidade. Serviço Social. Território.     Abstract: This bibliographical study aims to present the historical and theoretical specificities of Community Development and its relationship with social work, especially between the 1940´s and 1990´s. The study also aims to promote a debate that goes from “conformity to criticism”, in order to examine the conditions under which developed the theoretical-methodological paradigms that influenced both social work as well as Community Development. The study points out the development of the recent theoretical-methodological perspective supported by the so-called territorial development.   Keywords: Community Development. Social Service.
