This article examines the segment Alô Comunidade, wich is part of the local news Jornal do Almoço, on a theoretical framework of Folkcommunication. For this, it analyzes the main characteristics of the segment and identifies folkmedia marks in two stories about Monte Serrat, a community located in Maciço do Morro da Cruz, central region of Ilha de Santa Catarina. The analysis identifies the presence of folkmedia elements associated with these journalistic productions and reflects on the potentials and limits of the space for the promotion of popular cultures.
