This article analyzes the contribution of the radio program Consultório de Graça, broadcast by Rádio Jornal do Recife, as a tool of health folkcommunication. Over 17 years, under the leadership of journalist Graça Araújo, the program promoted health education and access to medical information in an accessible and empathetic manner. The study highlights how radio, as a popular medium, fosters practices of citizenship and inclusion, particularly in contexts of social inequality. The analysis also emphasizes the importance of communication and media training in Brazilian medical education to improve dialogue between healthcare professionals and society.
