RESUMO O presente artigo reserva-se à apresentação do ex-voto, objeto colocado, através do ato da desobriga, em santuários católicos, em específico, nas salas de milagres, como elemento do patrimônio cultural. Aqui, um recorte das produções dos Projetos Ex-votos do Brasil e Ex-votos do México, fomentados pelo CNPq, que incursionaram em quase uma centena de salas de milagres no Brasil e no México. As salas de milagres são espaços do patrimônio cultural que trazem, dentre suas riquezas, a natureza dos ex-votos, objetos que testemunham a fé e que apresentam histórias de vidas, retratas em suportes pictóricos, fotográficos, bilhetes, esculturas, objetos orgânicos e objetos industrializados representativos de situações coletivas e individuais, verdadeiras fontes de informação que trazem histórias locais, regionais e nacional, verdadeiros vetores da memória social e do patrimônio cultural e religioso.
