O Día de los Muertos é um evento representativo da cultura mexicana e reconhecido mundialmente. Apresenta-se como uma manifestação cultural de grande significado, pois se trata de uma mescla de culturas e também mostra a forma com a qual os mexicanos lidam com a morte. O objetivo deste trabalho é analisar, por meio de observação, as manifestações que compõem o período que compreende esse evento, que vai do final de outubro até o início de novembro, tendo as comemorações encerradas no dia 02, dia dos mortos/finados. Para tanto, lançou-se mão da teoria da Folkcomunicação para compreender tais manifestações sob viés sócio-cultural e, principalmente, comunicacional, já que é uma manifestação que comunica ao mundo o que é a morte no México.
