The collection, developed through a research project at UFMT, reveals how Brazilian journalism—even in its most respected forms—reproduces cisheteronormativity and androcentric logic in the selection of sources and narrative construction, reinforcing stereotypes and silencing dissident voices. Based on an intersectional approach and authors such as Butler, Foucault, and Hall, the book denounces symbolic forms of violence in the media, while also proposing more democratic and plural communication practices that value subaltern knowledge and LGBTQIAP+ experiences.
2025-09-05T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) 2025 Katarini Miguel, Camila Andrade Zanin, Rafaela Flôr, Tainá Jarahttps://revistas.uepg.br/index.php/pauta/article/view/24724Women in sports and feminist newspapers2025-07-15T13:35:28+00:00Érika Alfaro de Araújoerika.araujo@unesp.brCarolina Bortoleto Firminocarolina.bfirmino@gmail.com
This study aims to investigate how female fans, athletes and journalists were represented in the feminist newspapers Brasil Mulher, Nós Mulheres and Mulherio. These publications circulated during the second wave of the feminist movement in Brazil, a period marked by the struggle against the military dictatorship. Through the methodological procedures of Content Analysis, we categorized and interpreted all sports-related publications in these newspapers, analyzing both the subjects and sources, women with names and identities mentioned in the articles. The findings indicate that aspects such as gender, race and class were considered in portraying women's experiences, particularly those of athletes. Nevertheless, sports coverage remained limited, and revisiting the history of these newspapers highlights the gaps and challenges that persist to this day.
2025-09-05T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) 2025 Érika Alfaro de Araújo, Carolina Bortoleto Firminohttps://revistas.uepg.br/index.php/pauta/article/view/23936Jornalismo como lugar de memória2024-11-29T15:49:10+00:00Nicolly Barbosa Credi-Dionicollycredidio@gmail.comRafael da Silva Paes Henriquesrafaelpaesh@gmail.com
Based on the understanding of journalism as a site of memory (Nora, 1993), this study sought to investigate whether and how media outlets in Espírito Santo, Brazil, report on events related to the Military Dictatorship in contemporary times. To this end, an analysis was conducted of news articles about a property located in Guarapari known as the "Casarão de Cláudio Guerra". Using Content Analysis as the methodological approach, the study aimed to reflect on the contribution of journalistic activity to the preservation of the memory of resistance to the military regime in Brazil for posterity. The results revealed that only four journalistic pieces produced by the local media mentioned the property. Among them, just two discussed the suspicion of the property’s misuse during the military regime.
2025-09-05T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) 2025 Vinícius Biazotti, Macri Colombo, Marizandra Rutilli, Glauco Madeira de Toledohttps://revistas.uepg.br/index.php/pauta/article/view/24139Digital Journalism, Public Sphere and Practical Philosophy: Márcia Tiburi and female protagonism in redemocratization2025-05-19T00:11:13+00:00Claudio CARDOSO DE PAIVAclaudiocpaiva@yahoo.com.br
This study analyzes the work of Márcia Tiburi, protagonist of debates (media and literary) with academics and journalists, in the area of political philosophy oriented towards ethics and citizenship. The objective is to discuss how social media and investigative journalism are revived by female critical reason, facing current forms of ethical, political and cognitive regression. To support the research, we resorted to Critical Theory and the concept of “public sphere” (Habermas, 2023), a vector of democratization and citizenship. This has been updated by feminist criticism (Frazer, 1992; Benhabib, 2007), by academic-journalistic analysis, as “public telespace” (Bucci, 2021). It is also linked to "Practical Philosophy" (Tiburi, 2016), contributing to the debate on journalism, social media, gender and citizenship.
2025-09-05T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) 2025 Claudio CARDOSO DE PAIVAhttps://revistas.uepg.br/index.php/pauta/article/view/25028The Journalistic Ethos in Light of the Esso Journalism Award2025-08-09T15:06:43+00:00Luan Pazzini Bittencourtluanpazzini1@gmail.com
This article analyzes transformations in the journalistic ethos based on a critical reading of reports awarded the Esso Journalism Prize between 2006 and 2015. Using a methodological protocol and theoretical references on professional identity, ten award-winning reports in the Reporting category were examined and classified by human, political, and economic interest. The analysis reveals the coexistence of multiple journalistic ethos, linked to structural changes in the profession, the reorganization of production routines, and the emergence of new forms of legitimacy. The study contributes to understanding how reporting has been reconfigured in the 21st century and how it relates to credibility, subjectivity, and journalism’s social role.
2025-09-05T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) 2025 Luan Pazzini Bittencourthttps://revistas.uepg.br/index.php/pauta/article/view/24689O lugar formativo do jornalismo pós-pandemia de covid-192025-08-17T23:13:12+00:00Thalita Mascarelo da Silvathalitamascarelo@outlook.com
The paper proposes a discussion on the role of journalism education in Brazil regarding specialization in science and, more specifically, in health, with the main concern being the paradigmatic shift brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic and (dis)infodemic. To this end, it is based on a literature review, interviews with journalists specialized in science, health, and the environment, and considers the mandatory nature of University Extension as a fruitful space for greater specialization in student training. Thus, it concludes that the aspects raised create a welcome interdisciplinarity for the journalistic field, complementing the fields of communication and health and information science, based on open science.
2025-09-05T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) 2025 Thalita Mascarelo da Silvahttps://revistas.uepg.br/index.php/pauta/article/view/25540Revista Pauta Geral – Estudos em Jornalismo2025-09-05T14:50:21+00:00
v.12 | n.1 | 2025
2025-09-05T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) 2025 Ana Maria Bourguignon
