Abstract

The objective of this article is to revisit the concept of sexual violence against children and adolescents and its typifications for better appropriation of its real meaning, in addition to exposing the reported complaints and the protection network in the State of Amazonas, Brazil, particularly in the Metropolitan Region of Manaus, but not only. Its methodological basis is the bibliographic and documentary research, along with qualitative analysis, integrating perspectives from Stuart Hall’s Cultural Studies and Hannah Arendt’s Political Theory. The study reveals that this violence that annihilates thousands of lives in development must be fought fiercely like the force of nature within this vast territory called Amazonas. To this end, it calls upon the State and its protective bodies as a power and a civil society that needs to be aware of the extent of sexual violence against children and adolescents.
