Abstract

This work presents an analysis of the influence of photodiode-associated capacitance on the performance of transimpedance amplifiers, with emphasis on frequency response, stability, and dynamic behavior. The results demonstrate quantitatively that increasing photodiode capacitance significantly degrades the bandwidth and stability of amplifiers, especially when using general-purpose components. A comparison with dedicated amplifiers highlights a direct trade-off between performance and cost, allowing the identification of practical application limits for this approach.
