The objective of this article is to carry out a comprehensive analysis of the manifestations of conservatism during the dictatorial regimes in Brazil and Portugal, which were in force from 1964 to 1975. In addition to examining the different facets of conservatism in each national context, I seek to understand how these manifestations they were influenced by and influenced the political, social and cultural dynamics of the time. Adopting a historical approach, with an emphasis on Global History and Comparative History, the intention is to offer a panoramic view of the interconnections between the historical events of these two countries during this period. Through the analysis of the main agents, events and ideologies associated with conservatism, we intend to identify common patterns and distinct peculiarities in each context. Furthermore, a significant part of this study focuses on analyzing the implications of conservatism on women. I aim to understand how conservative ideologies shaped women's experiences, rights, and possibilities during these authoritarian regimes. This aspect of the research aims to shed light on the role of women in resistance, the fight for rights and social transformation in the face of conservative policies. In this way, the article sets out to provide a multifaceted and in-depth analysis of the manifestations of conservatism during the dictatorial regimes of Brazil and Portugal, with a special focus on the implications for women. I hope this study contributes to a broader understanding of the political and social history of these countries and inspires reflection on the challenges and lessons of the past for the present and future.
