A infiltração é responsável pela disponibilização de água no solo, principal agente dos processos morfopedogenéticos. O objetivo foi verificar a infiltração de água, estimando a velocidade de infiltração básica (VIB) em solos sob condições de regeneração natural da vegetação, na Floresta Nacional de Piraí do Sul (PR). Utilizaram-se infiltrômetros duplos de anéis concêntricos, com leitura da lâmina de água infiltrada por 2 horas, em três solos distintos, nas posições alta e média vertente, relacionando-as com os condicionantes geoecológicos e pedológicos. A VIB diminuiu em direção ao terço inferior da vertente, sendo calculados os valores 47,8 cm.h-1 para Latossolos, 29,6 cm.h-1 e 33,8 cm.h-1 para Cambissolos da média vertente, configurando zonas de recarga hídrica e de boa disponibilidade de água à vegetação florestal.
