Abstract

Data from the International Labour Organization (ILO) indicate that the number of absences from work in Brazil has grown in recent years. From this perspective, there are still no studies that detail the situation of municipalities in the state of Rio Grande do Norte.The objective of this research is to analyze the evolution of accidental absences according to the most frequent types of diseases registered, resulting from the B91 sick pay, in the municipality of Natal-RN, in the period from 2012 to 2022. frequency of dismissals, considering the sphere of employees with employment, allowing the interpretation of changes in pattern and causes. Descriptive research, according to the point of view of the objectives, predominantly quantitative approach and regarding the technical procedures, this research is a case study. Thus, the city of Natal was selected as the object of study and had data taken from the SmartLab platform, on the incidence of this problem, following experimental models already carried out in other locations. Using the results, it was possible to observe that the causes of leave are as diverse as possible, especially due to diseases of the musculoskeletal system and connective tissue, followed by diseases of a psychological nature, diseases of the respiratory and cardiovascular systems and, finally, other conditions. It is concluded that the findings in the city of Natal are in accordance with the data found in the literature and allow a broad view of the causes of leave, as well as opening doors for the generation of improvement strategies that seek a healthier work environment.
