Abstract

Currently, in the economic scenario, Individual Microentrepreneurs (MEI) play a fundamental role, generating jobs and strengthening the local economy. Conducting studies on this group is important, since their impacts extend to various sectors of society. This study aims to analyze the Quality of Life (QoL) of Individual Microentrepreneurs (MEI) in the municipality of São Gonçalo/RJ and thus gain insight into their vulnerabilities. Although Individual Microentrepreneurs (MEI) have some advantages and security by not being in the informal sector, the pressure for results, commitments, and time spent at work impact their quality of life. The questions were evaluated based on a scale ranging from 1 to 5, indicating minimum and maximum limits and allowing the calculation of the mean, standard deviation, and coefficient of variation of each response. In the results obtained through the quantitative approach, it was possible to verify that, in 25 of the 26 questions, the responses regarding the range varied between three and four. Only one of the questions presented a range of two, which corresponds to question 15, related to the psychological domain block. In addition to the range, the standard deviation and the mean of the responses were evaluated, and in this way it was possible to assess the topics or domains that may interfere with the quality of life of the MEI. This study contributes to the generation of data on the quality of life of MEI, which is still little explored, providing subsidies for this group that stands out with significant growth in Brazil.
