Abstract

Mastitis is an inflammation of the bovine mammary gland that may be present in clinical and subclinical forms in addition to leading to change in the characteristics of milk and reducing its production. Numerous pathogens can cause this type of inflammation in the ceiling of the animal, however, studies show that the main pathological agent of bovine mastitis is Staphylococcus aureus. The long duration of infections caused by Gram-positive microorganism that can take the disease to a chronic level, which makes it difficult to treat and significantly reduce the production of milk, constituting one of the most serious diseases in the dairy market. The stage of the mastitis and the immune system of the animal's body are the main factors that will guide the medication through the use of antibiotics, evaluating the safety of the therapy.
