O BORDADO COMO REEXISTÊNCIA: AUTORIA E MEMÓRIA EM NARRATIVAS TÊXTEIS DE MULHERES NO CONTEXTO DA EXTENSÃO UNIVERSITÁRIA

Abstract

This article presents the results of two distinct extension projects carried out in the Cultural Production Technology Program at UEPG/NUTEAD, in partnership with Cáritas Socialis in Guarapuava, Brazil. The first project, developed within the Cultura Viva: Presence in the Community Extension Activity, introduced free embroidery as a sensitive exploratory practice focused on individual expression. The second project, conducted through the Making a Difference in the Community Extension Activity, was designed based on the analysis of initial results and the institution’s interest in further developing the action. It brought together new participants and some women from the previous group to produce textile pieces with exhibition potential. The objective was to analyze authorial embroidery as a practice of expression, memory, and re-existence among women. The qualitative approach integrated participant observation, conversation circles, and photographic records. The results demonstrate strengthened bonds, increased creative autonomy, and enhanced belonging, culminating in public exhibitions and the selection of works for the Sou Guarapuava project.
