Abstract

It is known that the food trade consumes a lot of vegetable oil in frying processes, which cannot be reused unlimitedly due to oxidative degradation. Discarded waste can be disposed of inappropriately in kitchen sinks, toilets or even directly on the ground. In this sense, considering that among the various options for recycling waste oil, soap making is the most used, due to the simplicity and ease of the production process. This work presents activities linked to Teaching, Research and Extension carried out in the Fábrica Escola de Detergentes project at IFPR campus Palmas, presenting an alternative, safe and ecological soap formulation. The formulations with milk and fatty acid salts from residual oil in their composition are biodegradable, sustainable and green, in addition to presenting excellent physical-chemical quality and high cleaning power. Greener processes are developed in the project, including sustainable possibilities when recycling waste.
