Abstract

Sports, as a means of inclusion and socialization, have been widely used in social projects due to their transformative potential for children and adolescents in vulnerable situations. This study analyzed the impact of the “Caminhar Project” on the motor performance of 41 participants (ages 7–14) from the “Usina da Cidadania” project in Bandeirantes-PR. Motor performance was assessed using PROESP-Br (2021), before and after the project. A significant portion showed health risks in body composition measures and low levels of cardiorespiratory fitness, agility, and speed, as well as limited performance in muscular endurance and power. Although the project provided opportunities for sports practice and social interaction, no statistically significant impact was observed on the evaluated motor variables. The results highlight the need for more structured and personalized interventions to improve physical fitness and support the holistic development of this population.
