Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  •

    1.   The submission is original and unpublished and is not being considered for publication in another journal; otherwise, its submission must be justified in "Comments to the Editor".

  •

    2.   Submission files are in Microsoft Word, RTF or OpenOffice format (provided that they do not exceed 2 MB).

  •

    3.   Reference URLs are provided when necessary.

  •

    4.   The text is written in 1.5 line spacing, uses a 12-point font size, and employs italics rather than underlining (with the exception of URL addresses); figures and tables are embedded within the text and are not listed at the end of the document as appendices.

  •

    5.   The text follows style standards and bibliographic requirements outlined in the About the Journal section of Guidelines for Authors.

  •

    6.        Authorship information is removed from the file and from the Properties toolbar in Word, thus following the journal's confidentiality criteria for peer review submissions (e.g., articles).

Author Guidelines

a)   Articles must be unpublished at the time of submission.

b)   Articles must offer relevant contributions to its specific field of research, with theoretical consistency, clear and explicit argumentation, and language accuracy. Works must demonstrate enough potential and consistency to serve as a reference for other researchers.

c)   Length: articles should be between 20 (twenty) and 30 (thirty) pages in length, 1.5 line spacing; upper and lower margins of 2.0 cm, and left and right margins of 2.5 cm; in A4 format.

d)   Articles may be written in Portuguese, Spanish or English. The journal will translate articles originally written in Portuguese or Spanish into English, and those submitted in English will be translated into Portuguese. Therefore, all articles will be published in two languages: Portuguese/English or Spanish/English.

e)   Article titles must clearly and objectively outline the general idea of the work.

f)    Abstract: maximum of 10 lines (150 words), containing information on objectives, methodological procedures, theoretical frameworks and results. Abstracts must include 5 (five) keywords.

g)   In the case of articles prepared as part of dissertations and theses, names and titles of supervisors must be included.

h)   Research support from financial institutions must be acknowledged.

i)     Works must be submitted without authorship identification through the online submission system. We ask that authors submitting an article or review complete a registration form (metadata).

j)    Tables, graphics, photographs and other images will be printed in black and white and should therefore be uploaded in this format. Credits and acknoledgments must be made by the authors, who are also responsible for obtaining authorisations, when necessary.

k)   All authors must apply the author-date system to works submitted to the journal.

l)     Regarding citations, Portuguese-speaking authors must follow the NBR 10520 standard (the author-date system) and the NBR 6023 standard. For more information, authors may consult the Bibliographic Standardisation Manual for Scientific Papers of the UEPG Publishing House at the following address: https://deinfo.uepg.br/~tcc/doc/Manual_ABNT_UEPG_2019.pdf

m)  Spanish- or English-speaking authors who are not familiar with Brazilian standards referred to in the precedent paragraph may follow the "Harvard referencing system", which is well illustrated in a practical guide prepared by Staffordshire University available at http://www.staffs.ac.uk/support_depts/infoservices/learning_support/refzone/harvard/
