CRYPTOASSETS AS A CLASS OF FINANCIAL ASSETS AND THEIR COMPARISON WITH CONVENTIONAL CURRENCIES
Abstract
This study examines the class of financial assets known as cryptoassets in comparison with conventional currencies. Cryptoassets, such as Bitcoin, are decentralized digital assets based on blockchain, while conventional currencies are issued by central authorities. Cryptoassets offer efficiency, agility, and portfolio diversification potential, yet they are also volatile and lack regulation. Conventional currencies are stable, regulated, and have an established track record. The analysis highlights the innovation of cryptoassets and the stability of conventional currencies within Brazilian law.
