The paper describes the state of art of the ontology uses in distributed systems, some actual internet architecture limitations and a brief approach oh the environment definition method including some of its layers. The environment was proposed in a scenario where the ETArch future internet architecture components were used as conceptual background to illustrate supports the needs of multimedia applications.
