Abstract

The particle image velocimetry - PIV - is a technology for obtaining data for the definition of velocity field in fluid flow. This technology allows the study of how the geometric shapes of a solid can interfere with the flow and thus study the hydrodynamic or aerodynamic configurations. The main objective of this work is to study the basic parameters in the development of software that underlies the velocimetry. For these studies were obtained high quality particle images, illuminated by a laser beam in a fluid flow. From these images was analyzed the path of the particles and the vectoring defined by displacing in unit of time using CAD software.
