Abstract

Based on recent and current legislation at the national level (Resolution nº 510/2016 and Resolution nº 674/2022, of the National Health Council) and local and on discussions of contemporary authors who have debated the topic of ethics in research in the field of Education , it is considered pertinent the discussion regarding the limitations of the Research Ethics Committee/National Committee of Research Ethics (known by the acronym CEP/CONEP ) accessed through the Plataforma Brasil database (unified electronic system for registration of research involving human beings, linked to the Ministry of Health) with regard to the specificities of research in Humanities and Social Sciences (HSS). The hypertrophy of requirements in the process of requesting CEP approval via Plataforma Brasil and the bureaucracies (extensive and generalized forms) that do not match the specificities of research in HSS reveal the importance of a readjustment of the procedure adopted, from the perspective of education, which conceives ethics beyond a set of norms and filling out forms.
