The objective of this paper, which presents partial results of a post-doctorate research, is to analyze the recent historiography about the institutionalization of elementary school in the Province of Paraná in the period between 2000 and 2015. The method used was bibliographic review of journals and scientific congress proceedings. This review sought to evidence, as a survey and state of the art, the privileged themes and identify, from them, possibilities for future research. The results identified twenty-four themes researched in seventy-four works analyzed, as well as a quantitative increase in the production in the last five years. The conclusion suggests that the present moment is characterized by the local historians’ great interest in their provincial educational past.
