Abstract

This paper presents the results of a bibliographical research about the contributions of Paulo Freire’s thinking to studies on masculinities carried out within the scope of Doctorate in Education. In this direction, we initially present the context of life and the main concepts of Freire’s work directly related to the objective of this paper, such as freedom, dialogue and conscientization. Then, we articulate the author’s philosophical-educational discussions with studies on masculinities, explaining their relationships and divergence. Finally, we ponder on how Paulo Freire’s thinking helps us to build transformative social practices that favor and promote dialogical masculinity.

Keywords: Paulo Freire. Gender Relationships. Masculinities.
