Case study on a deschooling process marked by failure between school and family

This paper presents the case study of a process of deschooling of a 6th grade Elementary School student from the public school in Distrito Federal, Brazil, and under the theoretical framework of psychoanalysis. The research methodology occurred from the participant observation in which it was possible to interact with the subjects involved in the research through transference and, during the writing, in the analysis of the written and artistic texts of the subject of the study. The school year in which the deschooling process occurred, which was followed up, was marked by conflicts between the subject, the school and the family, showing a failure in the relationship between the school and family institutions. Questions about the difference between home and epistemological knowledge permeate the case analysis and culminate in an inconclusive and complex outcome regarding the effects of this deschooling.
