Abstract

In a climate region with contrasting nearby areas (on one side of the rainy side of the other semi-arid), such as northeastern Brazil and especially the state of Pernambuco, rainfall and thermal monitoring are fundamentally important for decision-makers who benefit the population. The objective is to identify the rainfall variability and its spatio-temporal oscillations through the quantile technique, to generate the climatological water balances for different rainfall regimes. (dry; very dry and its comparative with the balance of the period 1950-2019). The monthly and annual rainfall and average air temperature data were acquired by the Northeast Development Superintendence, Pernambuco Water and Climate Agency and estimated by Estima_T software for the period 1950 - 2019. Quantile techniques were essential to demonstrate fluctuations. rainfall and its irregularities in the periods: dry; too dry for the study area. The high temperature and low rainfall variability exert greater relationships with the evaporative and evapotranspirated power of the region under study. There is an extensive affinity of the integrating phenomena of rainfall indices with thermal and environmental, socioeconomic and climatic processes.
