ASSESSMENT OF THE ADSORPTION CAPACITY OF NAVY BLUE TEXTILE DYE K - BF USING BENTONITE
Abstract
The aim of the present study was to evaluate bentonite as an adsorbent in the removal of the navy blue dye K-BF, proof of effluence from the textile laundry. Before the adsorption tests, a bentonite was subjected to a change, which resumes the addition of organic molecules, so that its galleries expand and that its hydrophilicity, uses a hydrophobic and results in an organophilic bentonite. In this study, the influences of temperature, pH and adsorbent concentration on the adsorption of the textile dye were evaluated. In view of this, an experimental design was developed based on the factorial design methodology 23 with 2 repetitions of the central point, totaling 10 experiments. During the tests, it was possible to verify the significant improvements in the color of the effluent in all colors, which changed the dark blue, the light blue and the translucent. As the analysis of the samples showed a removal of up to 89.18% of the pH 2.0 levels, temperatures of 35 ° C and 1.0 g of organophilic bentonite. According to the results of the Statistica Software, only one temperature has a significant influence on the adsorption of the dye in this study. Thus, the use of the textile dye adsorption bentonite organization proved to be promising due to a high adsorption capacity.
