Abstract

The growing water problem in Brazil and in the world, in addition to the requirements of Law Nº. 8.666/93 of Brazilian bidding, warns of sustainability indicators in public buildings. The objective of this work is to propose a rainwater harvesting system at the João Pessoa Educational Center located in the Mangabeira neighborhood, detailing and detailing the entire catchment, transport and storage of the waters at the edge of Block 1, Block 2 and Gymnasium, through rails, vertical and horizontal conductors, to the set of reservoirs sized by the Rippl method. After the requirements were raised, a projection was made for the use of the water collected in the discharges of the sanitary basins and irrigation of the garden. Through the results of this research, it was possible to verify the efficacy and economic viability of the proposal of a rainwater harvesting system for the Educational Center.
