USE OF RAIN WATER FOR POTABLE PURPOSES IN RESIDENCES IN JI- PARANÁ/RO
Abstract
The city of Ji-Paraná is located in the state of Rondônia, in the northern region of Brazil, it is a municipality considered medium in size, divided into two districts. With the disorderly growth of the municipality of Ji-Paraná / RO, there was, consequently, a lack of structural planning in the supply of water resources in the city. For this reason, there is often a lack of water in some locations, affecting the daily lives of the population. The objective of this article was to demonstrate the design procedures for a cistern to store the water that precipitates on the roof in homes. To this end, a bibliographic survey carried out, with 07 writings involving the theme analyzed, among them 01 Brazilian Technical Standard, 04 scientific articles, 01 course conclusion work and 01 reservoir construction manual. It noticed that the capture of rainwater is a technique that can applying with the intention of replacing treated water in activities that do not require drinking water, such as gardening, cleaning outside areas, among others. It noted that it is essential to raise awareness of the use of water as an additional mechanism for controlling water resources.
