ANÁLISE FÍSICO-QUÍMICA DA RESISTÊNCIA DO CHUVEIRO ELÉTRICO ATRAVÉS DO PROCESSO DE FADIGA E CORROSÃO
Abstract
The present study aimed to verify if the chlorine added in the water in the chlorination process, aiming at the inactivation of pathogenic microorganisms and the thermal fatigue caused by the thermal cycles, are factors that influence the corrosion process of the electrical resistance used in the electric shower and consequently reduction of its lifetime. In the experiments were used the electrical resistances bello banho ultra e maxi ducha, both of Lorenzetti, company of the segment of showers. In order to perform an accelerated lifetime test, a hydraulic system was developed, containing water tank, electric shower, hydraulic pump and analog timer. The comparison was the method used to obtain the results, the experimental stage was divided into two stages, with potable water and distilled water. Firstly, potable water and secondly distilled water was used. The results obtained in the experimental phase were analyzed by microscopy using the binocular stereo microscope, which enabled categorical verification that chlorine and thermal fatigue are aggravating factors in the corrosion process of the electrical resistance and determinants of its deterioration. The electrical resistances that have broken down have a common breaking point, located in the smaller length of the electrical resistance, length responsible for the higher rate of heating.
