UMA ANÁLISE COMPARATIVA DA IMPLANTAÇÃO DE TELHADO BRANCO EM CONDIÇÕES DE SECA NO CENTRO-OESTE BRASILEIRO

Abstract

The present paper deals with the installation of a painted white cement fiber roof in a residential building in the greater Cuiabá (MT) area. To evaluate the thermal impact of white roof, specific measurements of the thermal conditions in the indoor environment have been performed before and after the installation of the new roof. It was estimated that the use of white roof contributes to the reduction of the peak ambient temperature during a typical drought day, by up to 3,2 °C, but, it is suggested that the installation of structure has little impact on the temperature of the occupied space. Even so, the use of white roofs is a very efficient mitigation technique to reduce the ecological footprint of the urban residential housing sector.
