AVALIAÇÃO AMBIENTAL DOS RECURSOS HÍDRICOS SUPERFICIAIS E SUBTERRÂNEOS DA ÁREA DE INFLUÊNCIA DIRETA DO ATERRO SANITÁRIO DE PALMAS, TO
Abstract
This article presents the environmental assessment of surface and underground water resources in the area of direct influence of the Landfill of Palmas, state of Tocantins. The water samples were collected in the monitoring wells installed in the landfill, following the environmental standards and legislation in force for the environmental monitoring of landfills. The results obtained are presented for the parameters pH, temperature, total solids, suspended and volatile solids, turbidity, alkalinity, arsenic gas dissolved in the liquid medium, cyanides, as well as the metals: barium, cadmium, lead, copper, chromium, iron, mercury and nickel, performed on both surface and groundwater samples. The results obtained through the environmental assessment in the water and surface resources monitoring system in the area of direct influence of the Landfill of Palmas - TO, allowed the analysis of each parameter according to the contamination containment system generated by the use of the area as landfill of solid waste, as well as the natural characteristics of the water table under the area of influence of the sanitary landfill. It is concluded, therefore, with the realization of this evaluation that the surface waters and the phreatic aquifer in the area of direct influence of the Landfill of Palmas - TO do not present pollution and/or contamination resulting from the current use of the area as Landfill of Urban Solid Waste.
