A CAPACIDADE DE AUTODEPURAÇÃO DO RIBEIRÃO DO ABREU A PARTIR DO MODELO MATEMÁTICO DE STREETER-PHELPS NO MUNICÍPIO DE TAGUATINGA – TO: UM ESTUDO DE CASO
Abstract
Abstract: In the present work, the Streeter-Phelps mathematical model was used to quantify the self-purification capacity of ribeirão do Abreu, located in the municipality of Taguatinga - TO, from scenarios of treatment of domestic effluents commonly used in Brazil. Taking into account the characteristics used by the model, the physicochemical and microbiological parameters of Ribeirão do Abreu were analyzed. In addition, data regarding physical characteristics of the spring, such as depth, width and velocity, were measured. From the results obtained it was possible to reach the following conclusions: a) The use of the Streeter-Phelps model proved to be consistent in assisting in the granting or not of grants for effluent release b) From the graphic analysis, it is possible to observe the existence of a linear relationship between the flow of the spring necessary to neutralize the organic load, with the concentrations of organic matter released in the aquatic body c) It is not possible to affirm that Ribeirão do Abreu will resume its characteristics upstream of the launch point, due to the presence of hormones and drugs. Substances that are not removed by conventional treatment systems d) Even for the dry season, the flow rate of the Stream is able to self-debug organic matter for any simulated scenario, without permanent compromise of dissolved oxygen levels below the minimum allowed by CONAMA Resolution No. 357/05 for Class 2 freshwaters.
