GRAPHICAL INTERFACE USING GNU OCTAVE APPLIED TO STATICS

Abstract

Students of Mechanical Engineering have contact with Statics course since the beginning of the program because, in fact, a lot of courses studied posteriorly needs previous knowledge about Statics concepts. However, some students do not understand deeply these concepts. Some authors have already discussed about this problem and have developed solutions, whether using computational resources or physical tools. This work aims to develop a new graphical interface to help students to understand some Statics concepts concerning to a 2D system of a beam subject to loads and supports. The developed interface is still going to be applied in class but already has a documentation to help students with possible problems.
