Abstract

The food production sector is governed by legislation that imposes hygienic and sanitary standards on industries to ensure to the final consumer a harmless food, free from contamination. Constantly the standards are reevaluated and changed with the main objective of promoting food safety. Foods of animal origin are under the supervision and release of the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Supply (MAPA) and its inspection criteria include the development and implementation of its own quality system, called Self-Control Programs. As suggested by Decree nº. 9,013 of March 29 at 2019, that small companies producing or benefiting animal products that have interstate commerce, certified by the ER (Related Establishment) seal, should be certified by the SIF seal. (Federal Inspection Service), the warehouse for honey and bee products Rainha da Flor, has been adapted to the legislation. The Company developed and implemented the Self-Control Programs, to change the ER seal to SIF. The Rainha da Flor Company successfully achieved the SIF seal and continued expansion of interstate commerce. The importance of effective quality management was confirmed for a food industry to provide safe products, following Brazilian sanitary and sanitary legislation. The Company obtained recognition of the quality of its products in the market and release for interstate commerce expansion.
