ANALYSIS OF THE USE OF GLASS WASTE IN PORTLAND CEMENT CONCRETE AND MORTARS

Abstract

Glass is considered a sustainable material, as it can be recycled several times without losing its properties. The glass residue can be used in traces of concrete and Portland cement mortar due to its pozzolanic properties. The aim of this study was to carry out a bibliographic review on the application of glass waste in civil construction. 35 articles were identified that met the established research criteria. Based on the studies found, it was possible to observe that the use of glass waste in concrete and mortar provides better workability and in the rheology of these composites, which also show resistance gain and improvement in permeability properties, favoring the durability of the structure.
