Abstract

For many years humans have been looking for ways to produce clean energy. Even so, many issues are reasons for preventing the full operation of environmentally friendly energy resources. Thus, it was noted the possibility of energy production from agrifoods residues, from anaerobic digestion, mediated by bacteria under specific conditions. Another product of this process is biofertilizer, a natural fertilizer that is safer for human health. Therefore, this work objective is to reach out to the mathematical modeling and simulation of a system of associated bioreactors for biogas production. The best amount of methane generated according to the ideal parameters was 4000 ml in 50 days. The best biogas production rate was 2.6 ml.g -1.d-1, production according to the amount of volatile solids added per day. While the best biogas production in terms of volatile solids added per day was 57 ml/gSVTad on the 50th day. The system in series of biodigesters proved to be more efficient, both in terms of degradation of organic matter and in the production of biogas.
