Application of Lean Construction in a vertical building situated in the city of Maringá/PR

Abstract

The main motivations that lead to the introduction of Lean practices in several construction companies are the greater degree of competitiveness between companies and the increase in market demands and cost reduction. This study aimed to assess the convergence of processes and methodologies applied by a construction company in the region of Maringá/PR to the principles of Lean Construction. With the application of a questionnaire and visits to the construction site, it was possible to verify the degree of application of Lean principles by the company. The data provided was analyzed and compared to what really happened in practice. Thus, it was concluded that, within the parameters analyzed, the construction company effectively complies with the Lean practices, standing out in the organization and transparency of the processes.
