OTIMIZAÇÃO ESTRUTURAL POR ALGORITMO GENÉTICO PARA MAXIMIZAÇÃO DE BAND GAPS EM BARRAS PERIÓDICAS
Abstract
The band gap effect is when cannot propagate mechanical waves in frequency range, so maximizing this effect is interesting in engineering structures projects. In this paper, optimization based on genetic algorithms is applied to maximize the first band gap in periodic rod model, with the variation of the cross section. The Spectral Elements Method is applied to calculate the propagation of waves in elastic media through complex dispersion and forced response. Two cases were selected to analyze the methodology developed, the first case is a rod with circular section with three periodic cells and the second case with five cells. The results obtained were satisfactory, which proves the efficiency of the developed methodology.
