ESTUDO SOBRE TIPOS DE PROPULSORES EM SUBMARINOS MILITARES

Abstract

This paper aims to present a brief introduction about thrusters in military submarines. For the world's armed forces, especially navies, submarines have significant importance, mainly referring to autonomy and period of time submerged. In case of Brazil, due to extensive Brazilian cut, use of submarines is of inestimable importance. The paper presents two main types of thrusters used in military submarines and their basic characteristics. In addition, the Brazilian submarine program of Brazilian Navy is briefly presented and appropriate opportunities and needs with first project of Brazilian Nuclear Submarine (SNB) are presented. The conclusion establishes need for Brazil to prepare to maintain its sovereignty in use and employment of submarines in its continental defense, as all countries do with this technology in order to sustain peace in the seas.
