Abstract

ABSTRACT: In the context of civil construction, the inclusion of more effective construction methods with the aim of maximizing productivity, quality and speed of execution becomes more indispensable. One of the possible alternatives to achieve this end is the use of the Steel Frame construction, which can bring environmental and financial benefits. It is known that Brazil is a major producer of steel, however, the construction system still predominant is that of buildings with reinforced concrete structures with vertical fences in masonry of ceramic blocks. Thus, the present work aims to evaluate and bring comparative results about the acoustic insulation between the constructive methods of vertical fences in masonry of ceramic blocks and the Stell Frame. The study was carried out through data collection in two prototypes that used the Steel Frame and Conventional Masonry application of 06 holes, with the aim of directly comparing the sound absorption in each type of fence. In addition, the conventional masonry prototype met the recommended levels of acoustic comfort in an elementary way and the Steel Frame prototype presented, in the four monitored days, greater/better sound pressure absorption capacity, proving to be more acoustically efficient and a useful and promising possibility in the construction sector.
