ANÁLISE DA VIABILIDADE DE IMPLANTAÇÃO DE UM PROJETO DE REDUÇÃO DE EMISSÕES E VENDA DOS CRÉDITOS DE CARBONO GERADOS NA UFVJM – CAMPUS JANAÚBA
Abstract
Faced with a current environmental scenario, negatively affected by anthropic attitudes, the dissemination of ideas and projects that actively seek sustainable development is of fundamental importance for the future of humanity. In this sense, several sectors can mobilize and contribute to achieving this goal. As is the case of the energy sector, which has invested heavily in clean and renewable energy sources, with emphasis on the production of photovoltaic energy. Based on this context, the present work aimed to carry out a study of the feasibility of integrating the project of the photovoltaic plant installed at the Federal University of Vales do Jequitinhonha e Mucuri (UFVJM) – Campus Janaúba to the Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) that proposes the reduction of Greenhouse Gases (GHG) emissions from the generation of clean energy. Based on the methodology for obtaining the Emissions Baseline, the Emissions Reduction and the Rate of Return on Investment, it was possible to obtain the values and convert them into Carbon Credits (CC), considering that for each ton of GHG not emitted a credit is generated that can be sold, enabling the generation of resources for the maintenance of the developed project. The results obtained from the conversion of the value generated from carbon credits to Real (R$) compared to the amounts invested in the implementation of the photovoltaic plant at UFVJM – Campus Janaúba, demonstrated the feasibility of the proposal.
