ANÁLISES FÍSICO-QUÍMICAS DA ÁGUA DE AMASSAMENTO DO CONCRETO ESTUDO DE CASO DA BARRAGEM PAU FERRO LOCALIZADA NA ZONA DA MATA SUL DE PERNAMBUCO
Abstract
The Pau Ferro Dam is of great importance for the accumulation and distribution of water to five municipalities in the Agreste region of Pernambuco. The reservoir is the target of several complaints due to its state of conservation. The objective of the research was to investigate the pathological manifestations and perform physicochemical analyzes of the mixing water of the dam's concrete. For this purpose, visits were made to the Pau Ferro Dam, in order to locate the largest number of anomalies in the concrete of the reservoir. The two physical-chemical analyzes carried out with the water used in the production of the concrete for the dam followed the NBR 15900-1/2009, which regulates the limits of the parameters monitored as requirements for water for mixing concrete, and therefore, water that presents Contaminants that exceed the limits determined by the standard can cause the concrete to lose strength. The results obtained showed that the parameters of the evaluated samples are in accordance with the criteria established by the norm, that is, the evaluated waters were suitable for the intended use. Although there is no connection between water quality and the presence of anomalies in concrete, the results are not conclusive to determine this connection, requiring more data over a historical series. In short, the study provided a current view of the pathological manifestations present in the dam concrete. In addition, the physical-chemical analyzes demonstrated that the mixing water is of excellent quality and with a strong indication that it did not cause the anomalies in the concrete.
