ADESÃO ÀS PRÁTICAS LEAN CONSTRUCTION EM TIBAU/RN

Abstract

One of the factors that has led to the optimization of the production process in the architecture, engineering and construction (AEC) industry is the adoption of the Lean Construction methodology, which made the sector develop actions capable of eliminating waste and meeting a strict deadline, delivering buildings with better living conditions. At the national level, the application of this methodology has been taking place slowly and gradually in large urban centers. There are no reports in the literature of the adoption of lean construction methodological practices in municipalities in the interior of Rio Grande do Norte. In an attempt to remedy this gap, an empirical research was carried out to identify aspects used in the execution of a work in Tibau/RN that fit Lean Construction practices. To achieve the objective, a questionnaire, checklist and photographic records were applied. The results showed that 69.2% of the actions developed are characterized as Lean practices, but the company studied is not classified as adopting this methodology in its entirety. However, it has the potential to improve its production process by developing practices that were not observed in the undertaking analyzed.
