ANÁLISE DA PROMOÇÃO DE ACESSIBILIDADE EM UMA EDIFICAÇÃO: UM ESTUDO DE CASO DA BIBLIOTECA/UFERSA-ANGICOS
Abstract
The promotion of accessibility aims to facilitate access, mobility, and engagement for people with disabilities or reduced mobility. Ensuring accessibility is crucial in all environments, including public libraries. This study aims to conduct an assessment of accessibility conditions at the UFERSA Library - Angicos/RN Campus, based on the NBR 9050/2020 - Accessibility for buildings, furniture, spaces, and urban equipment. The specific objectives are: to review current legislation on accessibility, analyze library spaces through photographic records and measurements, verify the application of Universal Design, and identify compliance with the NBR 9050/2020 standard. The research is descriptive and qualitative, conducted as a case study. Photographic records were taken to identify potential issues and propose suggestions for adaptations and equipment to improve accessibility. The results revealed that the Angicos Campus Library requires improvements in accessibility and mobility, particularly in the external areas, where the parking lot and sidewalks exhibit deficiencies. Therefore, adjustments and adaptations are necessary to eliminate obstacles and ensure an adequate and accessible infrastructure for all individuals, including those with disabilities.
