USE OF ISOPAINEL TO CONTROL THERMAL COMFORT IN BUILDINGS

Authors

Abstract

The thermal comfort, currently has been one of the relevant factors in choosing the correct stuff for the building of construction of the technical properties and the knowledge these stuff constitutes a starting point for construction. This work presents the results of a study that had as objective to make a comparative evaluation between thermal behavior of two buildings, an executed with closing in conventional masonry with the use of brick and another using insulating panel. This evaluation was performed from measurements of internal temperature in both buildings. Because the brick has a high thermal mass, being able to absorb, store and release heat slowly, the conventional masonry residence had higher internal temperatures at night. Therefore, it was possible to conclude that the insulating panel  constructive system, especially on the  days of high  temperatures, has a considerable internal temperature difference in relation to the conventional system and also in relation to the external temperature, with a variation of up to 4 °C,  the fact of the stuff has the lower thermal conductivity. This confirms that the building design needs to take into account the closure system, always seeking thermal comfort appropriate to the place climate.
