Step-by-Step Instructions for Installing a Solar Pyranometer
Abstract
Accurate measurement of solar irradiance plays a fundamental role in maximizing the efficiency of solar energy utilization systems, being essential to ensure their optimized operation and contribute to the construction of a more sustainable energy matrix. In addition to its practical application, the collection and detailed analysis of these data play a key role in scientific research related to climate change and the impact of solar radiation on the global climate. However, the lack of financial resources, especially in educational institutions, represents a significant challenge, making it difficult to practically carry out these measurements and compromising the learning experience of students and the development of research in the field. Faced with this reality, the creation of a cloud data storage system, using a low-cost data logger, becomes attractive. This work developed a system that allows real-time data acquisition and remote access to irradiance data, promoting a practical learning approach for students and professionals, as well as simplifying the conduct of studies on the effects of irradiance on photovoltaic systems, thus contributing to the advancement of research in the field of solar energy utilization. After installation, the system data will be validated by comparing it with the Instrutherm MES100 pyranometer, a model that is already calibrated and available.
