ESTRATÉGIAS EFICAZES NA PREVENÇÃO DA CORROSÃO EM ESTRUTURAS METÁLICAS DE PONTES: UMA ANÁLISE DE CASO

Abstract

The study examines the importance of corrosion protection and prevention in metal bridge structures by building a prototype arch bridge. The research highlighted how the choice of materials, geometric configuration and welding techniques impact on corrosion prevention. It also looked at the importance of paint as an anti-corrosion measure, emphasising the complexity involved in the selection of paint, prior treatment and environmental conditions. Despite the efforts made, corrosion remains a natural phenomenon in metal structures. The study was for applying knowledge to the preservation of critical infrastructures such as bridges, contributing to their safety and durability.
