Abstract

The Architecture, Engineering and Construction industry, in the last decade, has undergone transformations resulting from the emergence of equipment and software developed with innovative and more precise technologies. These characteristics contribute to such tools being incorporated into the generation of products provided by it. This case study aimed to verify the applicability of aerial photogrammetry using a DJI MAVIC AIR 2 drone in the AEC industry based on the planialtimetric mapping of a plot of land located in a horizontal condominium in the municipality of Mossoró/RN. The methodological procedures adopted were: delimitation of the area of interest; verification of weather and lighting conditions to define the best time to carry out the mapping; flight planning; drone assembly; flight execution; storage and processing of the images obtained to generate the point cloud and 3D terrain model. The results obtained in the processing carried out in the Agisoft Mathashape software were good as the errors were centimetric, demonstrating the precision of the equipment used since control points were not adopted due to the lack of RTK equipment, which consists of Global Satellite Survey System receivers. The results found corroborate the positive aspects identified in the bibliographic review on the use of products generated in planialtimetric mapping carried out with a drone. As these can be obtained in a data format called Industry Foundation Classes, allowing the exchange of models without loss of information in the preparation of Engineering and Architecture projects prepared in BIM software.
